Centering student voice & lived experiences

Exploring identity, place, and transformation through visual storytelling

I am an art educator with over 15 years of experience teaching middle school art in Central Texas. I specializes in curriculum design that centers student voice, process-based learning, and personal and cultural expression. I have led numerous workshops for educators across the state, focusing on strategies for engaging students in meaningful artmaking.

I am passionate about fostering inclusive, reflective classroom environments where students are encouraged to take creative risks and connect their lived experiences to their artistic practice. I also mentors early-career art teachers and am an advocate for arts education policy and teacher preparation. My professional development sessions combine hands-on making with pedagogical frameworks, offering practical tools that teachers can immediately apply in their classrooms.
